We ran a booth at the Western Farm Show to talk about the strides we've been making to further the agrivoltaic industry.
The Western Farm Show is an annual agricultural exhibition held in Kansas City, featuring a wide range of farm equipment, livestock, and agricultural products from various exhibitors. Since our start in 2021, we have dedicated our resources to developing an agrivoltaic racking solution which provides a dual land use for farmers to utilize, without changing their current operations.
Agrivoltaics is a solar photovoltaic system that combines agriculture and solar energy production in the same land area. This innovative approach allows farmers to produce food and generate renewable energy simultaneously. By installing solar panels above crops, the panels provide shade for plants, reduce evaporation, and moderate temperature, leading to improved crop yields and water conservation. The renewable energy generated can be used to power farm equipment and buildings, reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Agrivoltaics is a promising solution to address the challenges of food and energy security, while also helping to mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
